Ershuei Township
There are plenty of typical farm delicacies in unsophisticated Ershuei, such as fragrant rice of Yuancyuan Village, steamed turnip cake in a bowl on Huimin Road and Huoshao noodles across from the fire station, etc.
The steamed turnip cake in bowl on Huimin Road complies with the preparation procedures of old days and quality is the top priority. Major ingredients include Zailai rice, pork, fried green onions, garlic and boiled eggs. It is not only chewy with a good smell, but also cheap.
The name of Huoshao (fire burning) noodles on Yuanji Road is extraordinary. It is because the noodles are fried in a hot wok above a big fire. Therefore, a smell of burning is produced. There is another old store with a history over 50 years on the same road selling hard but chewy hand-pulled noodles cooked with firewood instead of gas, which emits a scent of smoke!
